The Hoffman Crew Give The Discovery Channel Gold Rush Alaska Another Hit Season
The miners came back with a vengeance because the year before Todd Hoffman and his father Jack decided to fund their gold mining expedition by practically selling everything they owned apart from their homes. The dream to strike it rich was all the motivation they need, and that dream was shared by a few of their friends that comprises what is now known as ‘the Hoffman crew’. When it didn’t exactly happen for them the first season, they actually went back and sold their own homes to give it another shot.
Putting the continental US in their rear-view, Porcupine Creek was in their sights once more, and they headed straight for Jack’s Glory Hole. When they arrived, they were excited to get going, but unforeseen circumstances left them to come up with a new plan in order to salvage their season.
Dakota Fred snuck in a low-blow and bought the claim from Earl (the now former claim owner the Hoffman’s were leasing from), but knowing Todd, he wasn’t about to give up. Always having a plan B in their back pocket, Todd Hoffman decided to travel further north to the famous gold-streaked, claim-rich Klondike and take another gamble by setting up a new operation in Canada’s remote gold fields.
As their battles with hardships were far from over, the Hoffman crew maintained an optimistic outlook on their future as gold miners. He was right. Towards the end of the season, they began to near their 100 ounce goal and got extremely close but just shy by a few ounces. With this kind of determination, it is sure we are to see a new season. In fact, it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see many seasons of the Discovery Channel Gold Rush show because of its immense success with the viewers.
